The first permission of the theatre was the House of Red Army and Fleet in Polyarniy town. First actors were sailors and first actresses were wives of captains. The first performance of the theatre was a play “The death of squadron” which took place on the 31st of March 1936. Since then and until this day the military-patriotic theme of performance defines the program of the theatre. From 1943 till 1986 the theater functioned on the basis of the Officers club in Rosta. Since 1987, the company got the own building where it is situated now. Honored arts workers, honored cultural workers, and national artists are working in the theater. The theater director is Y.V. Feketa who is the first person on the Kola Peninsula who the government award twice. |
